Are there any way to recover deleted Contacts from my iPhone 4? I accidentally click delete all and now they are gone. I just don’t know how to get them back because I don’t have a backup. My phone is the 16GB iPhone 4. I have windows 7 & OS X 10.7 installed on my Mac. They all have the latest updates. Please help me find a solution for iPhone 4 Contacts recovery.
Unlike other smartphones, iPhone 4 uses different storage mechanism thus it is unable to retrieve data using general methods. But one of the benefits to use iPhone is that iTunes can automatically back up your iPhone contacts and update it each time you sync it on your Mac. As a matter of fact, iTunes has automatically generated a backup file when you sync your iPhone with it. The backup is a kind of SQLitedb file. Generally you can’t access it, but with a right extractor, you can extract the content from it, like your contacts. So you really have a big chance to extract iTunes backups and restore your “deleted” Contacts (& other lost files). And what you need is a special iPhone 4 contacts recovery software.
For Windows 7, take a try Wondershare Dr.Fone. It also allows you to directly scan and undelete data from iPhone 4G, when you don’t have iTunes backup.
For Mac OS X, go to Data Recovery for iTunes. It works without requiring you to connect your iPhone 4 to the Mac. Simply install it and it will start to scan for your iDevice data automatically.
Note: both programs also support recovering Contacts (SMS, photos, videos, Notes etc) from iPad, iPod Touch, even if your iDevice is lost, stolen or won’t power on.
Remember – after your iPhone 4 contacts are recovered, it is highly recommended to start making regular backups of them in case similar human errors happening again.
